How to use the 3D Box Builder

Choose a box style. Pick from 17 structures, from mailer and shipping boxes to rigid, magnetic, tube and pouch formats. The size fields fill in with that style's most popular size.
Set your inside dimensions. Type length, width and height in inches. Prices and the 3D model update instantly.
Pick white or kraft board. Kraft shows natural brown fibers; white gives brighter colors.
Design it. Upload your logo (a PNG with a transparent background or an SVG works best), or type a brand name and tagline. Choose colors or a quick palette, add a pattern and an inside-lid message.
Add finishes. Try matte, gloss, soft-touch or an embossed logo, and switch on foil stamping in gold, silver, rose gold, holographic or black.
Check the price. Choose material, quantity and print coverage to see the estimated unit price and total.
Download, share or quote. Download a high-resolution mockup image, copy a share link, save the design to your account or send it straight into a quote with all the details filled in.

Tips for a realistic preview

Use a vector or high-resolution logo. Our Artwork Checker tells you if an image is sharp enough to print.
Start with your brand palette. Quick palettes are a starting point; enter your exact brand colors with the color pickers.
Keep the outside simple. One dominant element (logo or pattern) reads best, especially on mailers that will carry a shipping label.
Use the inside. On mailers and rigid boxes, the inside color and message are the reveal moment, and they cost far less than outside finishes.
Finishes are approximations. Screens cannot fully show foil or soft-touch. Order a sample kit to see them in real light.

A packaging specialist reviews it, sends a dieline for your exact size and a free 3D proof made from your real artwork, then an itemized quote.

How the price estimate works

The builder uses the same published pricing model as every price on our site. It calculates board area for the style and size, material cost, printing, conversion (cutting, gluing, assembly), finishes and setup, then applies quantity price breaks. The estimate is for delivery within the contiguous US. Your written quote confirms the final price after a specialist checks the details. See how we price.

Key terms on this page

Inside dimensions: The usable space inside a box, the standard way to specify custom box sizes (L × W × H).
Kraft: Paper or board made from unbleached wood pulp, naturally brown and strong.
Board: A general term for thick paper materials used in packaging, including paperboard, corrugated board and greyboard.
Foil stamping: Applying metallic or pigmented foil to packaging with heat and pressure using a metal die.
Coverage: The proportion of a surface covered by ink. Heavy coverage uses more ink and can affect drying and cracking.
Artwork: The final graphic files (logos, images, text and colors) placed on a dieline and used to make printing plates or digital print files.
Point (pt): The unit of paperboard thickness: 1 point equals 0.001 inch. 18pt board is 0.018 inch thick.
Dieline: A flat template showing the exact shape of a box before folding, with cut, crease, bleed and safe zones. Artwork is designed on top of it.
Proof: A preview of the final package (digital PDF, 3D render or physical sample) that the customer approves before production.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 3D Box Builder free?

Yes. You can design, download mockups and share links without an account. A free account lets you save designs.

Can I use the mockup images?

Yes. Downloaded mockups are yours to use for planning, presentations and social posts. Remember they are renders, not photos of printed boxes.

Why doesn't my share link include my logo?

Logos stay in your browser for privacy and are not uploaded. Re-upload the logo after opening a shared link, or save the design to your account.

Are the colors exact?

Screen colors are approximations. Provide Pantone references in your quote and approve a proof for color-critical work.

The 3D view doesn't load. What can I do?

The builder needs WebGL, which almost all modern browsers support. Try updating your browser or enabling hardware acceleration. You can still request a quote and we will send a 3D proof.
